What information are we required to provide to enable you to perform an audit of our PPC campaign?

We require read-only access to your pay per click advertising system. For example in Google Adwords® this an account with Reports Only access.

We also need read-only access to your analytics reports for the site hosting the landing pages.

We will refuse to accept administrative access to your accounts. You must create special read-only accounts for us to examine your campaign.

Do you make changes to my campaign?

We never make any changes to advertising campaigns, landing pages, or web sites as part of an audit. We only work with read-only access so it is not possible for us to make changes intentionally or accidentally.

Will you take over my campaign?

While we do have vast experience managing advertising campaigns, we are not presently accepting new customers for PPC campaign management.

Why should a client using a professional SEM company get an audit?

Our audits are totally unbiased evaluations of return on investment in advertising campaigns. Our goal is to find the truth behind the performance of your campaign, not to trash your existing SEM. In many cases SEM firms love working with us because we help improve customer understanding of their campaigns plus suggest ways to further increase campaign performance.

We always advocate for the optimal financial interest of the advertiser. Sometimes this works in favor of the SEM or internal account manager by validating their work and supporting requests for increased budgets or greater advertising scope.

Why should a campaign managed by internal staff members get an audit?

Our audit process is designed to increase performance and reduce the cost per conversion of internet advertising campaigns. This results in greater profitability for the advertiser.

Internal account managers do not have exposure to the variety of campaigns we see and are not able to compare industry metrics to determine their competitive position as we can. Further, our audit reports are often used by internal campaign managers to present to company executives to give independent validation of their work.

I use a third-party to manage my campaign. Do I need to inform them before starting the audit?

No. You do not need to inform your campaign manager, as long as you can create a read-only account to access system reports.

I use a third party that does not allow me direct access to my campaign. Can you still provide auditing services?

We cannot usually audit campaigns without direct read-only access to the reporting system for the advertising and analytics systems. Some companies intentionally hide this information from their clients in order to protect the markup they place on clicks and leads delivered to clients. These companies will not provide this data to us.

In some cases we can provide a specialty audit based on reports furnished by you or the management company. Please call us to discuss this.

Can you audit other forms of online/internet advertising?

Yes. If you are tracking the advertising, we can perform audits on it. This applies to media buys/banner advertising on a CPM model and other online advertising that uses an ad server to track metrics. We will need read-only access to the ad server and server analytics to perform the audit. Pricing for this varies from PPC auditing services.

Can you audit offline advertising?

Yes. We have special tools and software that we can implement to help you capture better metrics for offline campaigns. Please call us to discuss this further.
